Heather 21

How much fun can you have on a trampoline? When you're over 35, not much, but the pictures you take can amount to endless fun! I took these pictures with my nifty 50 lens, fast shutter speed, and wide aperture. I applied an exposure and color punch in Lightroom.
p.s. I drafted this Tuesday evening, but didn't post until Wed. Didn't want Heidi to think I was squeezing her out :-)

Wow, I forgot that we are posting now! What a fun week it has been. This is a picture from up at my mom's house. We were there over Christmas and they had a little bit of snow. It is the same picture just processed a little differently. It is amazing how different they both look and the different feelings each picture gives off.

Another shot taken for the recipe challenge at SM. I think I like shooting food... it doesn't get impatient when I take shot after shot to get the right one :) I took this with my Dad's new camera that he got for Christmas. It's the next upgrade from mine... Sony Alpha 300... exactly the same but it has live view. I can't wait until he get new lenses that I get to try :)

Merry Christmas!

Heather, Cyndi & I would like to wish each one of you a very Merry Christmas! We are going to be taking the next week off to spend time with our family and to try to get "stuff" done. We pray that each of you have a blessed Christmas and remember that Jesus is the reason for the season! See ya next week! :)

This will be my last post until after Christmas, so I thought I would leave you with some holiday cheer. A tripod and super slow shutter speed were a must with the low light.
Have a Blessed and Merry Christmas Ladies!

This was a shot I took up at my mom's house this summer. I was sitting out front trying to capture a humming bird, but not having much luck. This was one of the shots I came up with instead. My mom's house could probaly be in a country magazine somewhere. :)

Falling behind... falling behind. Well, better late than never, right? I took some pics of my nieces and nephews over the weekend for my parent's Christmas calendar. That's about the extent of my fun pics right now. Thanks for your patience :)

Here are 3 of my favorite shots from my recent New Hope family portrait session. Heidi, thank you so much for helping me -your input was invaluable and we worked really well as a team! Heidi came up with the cute arrangement in the top photo, the family loved it and chose it for their Christmas cards!

Well, the picture I was going to use I can't get. Something about Lightroom not having a copy. I don't have time to go through CS3 to find the picture and edit it, so you get one from the stash today. This is another shot of my MIL table. Beautiful as always. ;) I had to balance on a chair to hold the camera still since I did not have my tripod with me.

Yikes... I am so late! I pulling from my stash today. We're hosting Christmas with my family and I'm trying to do about 4 things at once. These were some early football pics. I thought the shots themselves were cool but I'm not happy at all with the clarity. Plus it would have been nice if the guy in the top frame was looking this way :) I like the bottom one cuz it's my little boy directing his defense. I can't believe he's old enough for that!

Here is the second half of the pictures I took in Tahoe. I wanted to see how they converted to B&W. I took this picture on the tripod with my remote.

Here is another picture I took of Cassie. I love how the colors of the flowers pop againts the weeds .... uhmmm, I mean grass. ;)

Two slightly different looks at the same tree. Same shot... all changes made in post processing... crop and color. The sepia kind of reminds me of an old west pic.

I took these pictures in Lake Tahoe. My intentions were to come up with a good picture of all of the kids for Christmas cards, but captured some beautiful individual portraits instead. We expected there to be hills of snow, but there were only patches here and there. When I opened the pictures up to edit them, I could not have been happier with the burst of color in between the snow, I think it made for a striking backdrop.

O.k., as Heather would say, my assignment was taking pictures of our Christmas tree. I didn't want any other light source than the Christmas tree. I used a tripod because my shutter was open for so long. I really am not thrilled with how this turned out. I am wondering if having white lights make a difference. I almost didn't post this, but figured it was part of the learning process. I took about 20 pictures and this is the only one that turned out o.k.

This where I work now :) I'll probably be practicing here... a lot!! There's a beautiful old section of the cemetery that was built in the early 1800's. I hope to capture some of it's charm and beauty.

Emily had a friend stay with her and I wanted to take some pictures of them. I asked them if they wanted to get dressed up for a photo shoot and they actually consented! I was totally working against the clock as the sun was setting fast and didn't have much time to set up. The girls left their shoes at home and we walked down to a little grove near the creek. Only 1 of the pictures of the girls together came out, but I caught a few impromptu pictures that turned out just dreamy!

Well, this is the fountain that I stopped to take pictures with Cassie. It is the only shot that kind of turned out. Jim thinks it looks like I photoshopped her head in ... maybe I got the colors to vibrant? I don't know. I thought she had a cute look on her face and it was a different perspective. Like I said early, the wildflower shots turned out much better. But I wanted to show what my original intention was, and what I ended up with instead. One never knows what will happen when taking pictures. ;)

I took these for the recipe challenge at Scrap Matters last week. I really had nothing better to post. I need to take some pictures :)

I took this picture of Pete at the Thanksgiving parade. I like both versions, but I especially like his little freckles on the black and white version :-)

Here is another shot of my mother-in-laws table. I turned one black and white and left one in color. I couldn't decide which one I liked better. They both give off different emotions, so I included both of them. :)

These lovely flowers came from Dan the Man on his last day with me. I waited a little too long to take a picture and had to get creative with the angle so you'd only see the good flowers :) Used the natural light from my kitchen window and only ran an unsharp mask on this one.
