I saw this as we were going home from my conference. To the right of the hydrant is a guy working on it. He just didn't blend into the picture, so I cropped him out to get this neat shot of the water coming out. This picture was also taken as a portrait, but when I cropped the man out, I made it a landscape.

This is a cool shot... not often you get to see a fire hydrant in action... This was a right time at the right place kind of a shot. It would have been fun to play with the shutter speed to see what the results of the water being completely frozen in action verses that dreamy, slow water effect. Good eye Heidi!

I really like that. It wouldnt be so 'dramatic" if there was a guy in it. Makes you feel like it is over 100 degrees outside and your ready to go play in the water.
Oh, so cool! I wish I saw some of these things you're seeing. I like how the hydrant is in the right 3rd of the pic. I love the way the water looks as it's coming out. And even the leaves floating in the gutter. Great shot!
